If you have determined that you need to replace the carburetor in your Briggs & Stratton small engine or you need to remove it to clean it out follow these step-by-step instructions:
**Make sure the engine has been cooled before doing this repair**
- Remove the spark plug wire from the engine
- Loosen the air filter cover screws and remove the cover, filter, and cleaner (if equipped)
- Remove the control cover by removing the screw on the top
- Remove the air filter base plate by removing the screws
- Using pliers release the clamp securing the fuel line
- Unplug the fuel line and plug it so gas does not spill out
- Move the choke lever assembly to the side by removing the screw
- Remove the carburetor mounting bolts
- Rotate the carburetor to remove it from the throttle control lever
- Remove the O-ring from the engine intake tube
**The new carburetor will have a new O-ring, be sure to install new one**
